Application for Legal Services

We will review your request for assistance and decide if we will be able to help you. Sending a request does not mean you are a client. The only way to become a client is if we decide to accept your case.

Southern Legal Counsel considers a number of factors in deciding whether to help someone with a legal issue. We primarily take cases that involve significant public issues or that may help other people in addition to you. Southern Legal Counsel’s cases typically involve lawsuits against the government, or other individuals or organizations, to address discriminatory or unlawful conduct. We use litigation to fight for rights of behalf of groups and individuals, especially persons who are low income, persons experiencing homelessness, children, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ persons.

We regret that sometimes we cannot take cases even when we know that peoples’ rights have been violated.
I understand that filling out this form does not guarantee Southern Legal Counsel will take my case.*
