The Northwest Justice Project’s online application is a secure way to start your application for free legal services. This is the first step to find out if you qualify for 1) representation in an eviction case; 2) advice from a CLEAR attorney or paralegal; or 3) a referral to a legal service provider in the state of Washington.

What will happen after you apply?

1. We may call you or refer you to another legal organization who will call you.
   • Eviction: If you appear to be eligible we will call you, or we will refer you to another legal aid organization who will get in touch. If your case was filed in court, you may have the right to an attorney.
   • Debt, Government Benefits, Special Education: If you appear to be eligible, we will call you.
2. We may ask you to call us.
   If you have another kind of legal problem not listed above, we may ask you to call the Northwest Justice Project’s CLEAR hotline. Filling out an application can make the screening process go more quickly.
3. We may refer you to a reduced cost legal resource or to legal information.
   If you are over our income limits for free help, you may be referred to another reduced cost legal service or to a lawyer referral service. We may also be able to give you helpful information or legal forms online.

Is this an emergency? If you are facing eviction, call 1-855-657-8387 at any time. Leave a message if intake staff are unavailable to take your call. If you have an emergency or deadline for other kinds of legal issues, complete this application and then call CLEAR at 1-888-201-1014 as soon as possible (weekdays 9:15 am to 12:15 pm).

Confidentiality: The information you send us is private and confidential and is only used to determine eligibility for legal services.

By completing this application, you give Northwest Justice Project permission to send your application information to a different legal aid organization who will also maintain your privacy and confidentiality.

No Attorney-Client Relationship: Completing this application does not automatically make you a client of Northwest Justice Project or any other legal aid organization.
